Pictory sells a fixed allowance of exported minutes (200 for $29 a month), InVideo adds generative AI clips paid in credits from $20 a month, and Fliki is built around its AI voice library, with 1,000 voices on the $28 Standard plan and 2,000+ on Premium. Vyond makes animated character videos for training and business teams: Vyond Go turns a prompt, script or document into an editable draft that its Studio editor finishes, from $99 a month for one user. Powtoon makes animated explainers in a slide-based editor with templates and cartoon characters, and its AI turns a prompt or document into a draft, from $49 a month or $15 a month billed yearly. Animaker, another animated-video maker with a cartoon character builder, has AI that turns a prompt into an editable animated draft, from $45 a month or $25 a month billed yearly, though commercial use starts with Pro at $79.

How to choose
- Minutes or credits: Pictory sells exported minutes, which are easy to budget; InVideo and Fliki sell credits, and InVideo's AI agent spends them while it works; Vyond spends credits on its AI features (a Vyond Go video costs 800 of Starter's 10,000 a month) and caps downloads at 100 a month on Starter; Powtoon spends credits only on its AI features, and billed yearly it gives far fewer (Lite gets 300 for the year against 150 a month billed monthly); Animaker counts downloads (10 a month on Starter, then $15 each), AI video credits and 90 seconds of generative video a month, and does not say what a draft costs.
- Stock footage or generated clips: generated clips cost credits on InVideo and Fliki, while stock footage costs no credits on Fliki.
- Animated or filmed look: Vyond, Powtoon and Animaker draw animated characters and scenes (Zapier's Miguel Rebelo found Vyond's overall cartoon style cannot be customized), while Pictory, InVideo and Fliki build videos from stock footage or generated clips.
- Refunds: none at Pictory or Vyond (not even for the $10 plan trials Vyond offers in some regions), none per Fliki's FAQ, InVideo only within 7 days if nothing was made, Powtoon within 14 days only if you have not exported or published a video, made one over 3 minutes or used 5 or more AI generations, and Animaker only if its service becomes unavailable or access is unreasonably delayed.
