Vyond review: pricing, features and what testers found
Vyond makes animated business and training videos: Vyond Go turns a prompt, script, document or web page into an editable animated draft with characters, scenes and voiceover, and Vyond Studio is the timeline editor for finishing it, with AI avatars on every paid plan and translation into 95 languages from Professional. Starter costs $99 a month ($699 a year) for one user and 10,000 AI credits.
Our take
Vyond suits companies that make training, HR and sales explainers in-house and want animated characters rather than a filmed or avatar presenter: Vyond Go turns a prompt, script, document or web page into an editable animated draft, and Vyond Studio is a full timeline editor for finishing it, with HeyGen and Tavus avatars as an extra. It is priced for company budgets: Starter is $99 a month, or $699 a year, for one user with 10,000 AI credits (about 12 Vyond Go drafts at 800 credits each) and 100 downloads a month, and Shutterstock media, translation and team seats start with Professional at $199 a month. Zapier's Miguel Rebelo, in a roundup last updated by an app tester in February 2026, found Go's first draft close to finished but the cartoon's overall look not customizable; the only other hands-on test found, by the Media & Learning Association in 2023, covered Go's beta and got quick, acceptable videos that still needed checking. Fees are non-refundable, credits reset monthly without rolling over, the free trial makes at most three watermarked videos it cannot download, and each video made for a client costs a $99 rights transfer unless you buy Agency.
Based on Vyond's published plans and the hands-on tests linked below, not on a test of our own.
Good for
- L&D, HR, compliance and sales-enablement teams turning policies, slide decks and documents into animated explainers
- Companies that want animated characters rather than a talking-head presenter, with brand kits, approvals and SSO on Enterprise
- Teams localizing the same training video into many languages
Watch out for
- Fees are non-refundable, including the $10 seven-day plan trials offered in some regions, which become a paid subscription unless cancelled; cancelling only turns off renewal at the end of the term.
- The main AI features (voices, avatars, Vyond Go, images, clips and translation) spend credits, which reset on the 1st of each month and do not roll over: a Vyond Go video costs 800 credits by the plans page (one help article says 400), HeyGen stock-avatar speech 40 credits per 10 characters (Tavus 50), so Starter's 10,000 credits cover about 2,500 characters of avatar speech, and a 4-second Veo clip up to 4,000. When they run out, AI features may become unavailable until the reset; only annual Professional and Agency users can borrow next month's credits.
- Downloads are capped each month (100 on Starter, 200 on Professional, counting videos, GIFs, scene images and SCORM files), videos are capped at 25 minutes on Starter and 40 on Professional, and Starter cannot download videos that use Shutterstock assets, which some Vyond Go templates include.
- The free trial gives 2,000 credits for at most 3 videos, watermarked, without AI avatars or downloads; Vyond's FAQ instead says trial exports carry a watermark.
- A video made for a client needs a $99-per-video commercial rights transfer, after which you may no longer use it commercially; Agency includes unlimited transfers by Vyond's FAQ.
- Vyond Go ignores any length, format or number of characters asked for in the prompt, its scripts may be inaccurate, its language options start with Professional, and avatar-template videos can take 30 minutes to an hour to generate.
- Starter is a single-user plan; seats and collaboration start with Professional, and Enterprise and Agency are sold only yearly.
- Trustpilot's score is low (2 out of 5 from 29 reviews), with complaints about prices and the credit system introduced with the May 2025 price rise.
What Vyond does
- Vyond Go: a prompt (up to 4,000 characters), your own script, a .docx, .pdf, .pptx or .txt file (up to 70 MB) or a web page becomes an editable animated video, about 2 minutes long by the help center, in a Conversation, Talking Head or Narration layout with a chosen tone and format; 800 credits a video
- Vyond Studio: a drag-and-drop timeline editor with Business Friendly, Whiteboard and Contemporary character styles, a character creator, 1,000+ templates by Vyond's FAQ, automatic lip-sync, charts, screen and webcam recording, uploaded media and Shutterstock stock from Professional
- AI avatars from HeyGen and Tavus (1,300+ options by the plans page) on every paid plan, a custom avatar of yourself as a $200 add-on by the help center, photo to character, and avatars generated from a text prompt from Professional
- 650+ high-quality text-to-speech voices on every plan; 200+ ultra-high-quality voices and voice cloning on Enterprise and Agency
- Instant translation of on-screen text, voices and captions into 95 languages from Professional; text-to-image (Flux 2 Klein or Nano Banana 2) and, on Enterprise and Agency, 4- to 5-second generated clips from Veo 3.1 Fast or Kling 2.6 Pro
- Exports as 1080p MP4, GIF, WebM with a transparent background and captions (.srt, .vtt); SCORM, PowerPoint and PNG scene export on Enterprise and Agency; Google Docs, Slack and Zapier integrations and a mobile app
- Vyond's terms say neither Vyond nor its AI model providers may use your content or output to train AI models

What hands-on testers found
We have not tested Vyond ourselves. These are the published tests we found that used it hands-on, newest first; follow the links for the full reviews.
Zapier · Miguel Rebelo · updated October 9, 2026
What they tested: Vyond Go's text to video from a prompt, then editing the draft in Vyond Studio, as one of 16 apps in a tested roundup of AI video generators; picked for animated character videos. The plan used is not named. The article's note says an app tester last updated it in February 2026 and it was reviewed for accuracy in October 2026.
- From one prompt, Vyond Go wrote the script and built the scene objects, character movements and voiceover, and the first draft came close to a finished video.
- Studio's timeline let him change the music, add and remove scenes and mix in stock media, and filming yourself acting out a movement can drive a character's motion.
- The main drawback: the overall cartoon style cannot be customized.
- He calls the animated-character use a bit niche, but finds Vyond a well-rounded editor that also handles real footage and AI avatars.
Media & Learning Association · Mathy · August 1, 2023
What they tested: Vyond Go in its 2023 beta, then limited to 3 videos every 24 hours, with a few complex texts of about 3,000 characters each. This predates the May 2025 plans and credit system. The association is a not-for-profit for media in education and sells no video tool. The page shows no byline or date; the author's name (Mathy) and the date are from its metadata.
- Each animated video of 1 to 2 minutes took a little over a minute to generate, and the results were acceptable.
- The text may need careful editing, which the edit mode makes easy.
- On the third attempt the character made needlessly emotional faces and gestures, so the reviewer says every result needs checking.
- The choice of backgrounds was somewhat limited.
