Opus Clip finds and ranks the best moments and can post them for you, Vizard gives the most upload minutes for the money of the three (600 for $29 a month), and Submagic is built for animated captions on short clips, with long-video clipping as an add-on.
Quick picks
- Opus Clip: best for turning long podcasts and webinars into ranked, captioned shorts
- Submagic: best for animated captions and quick polish for short clips you already have
- Vizard: best for clipping long recordings on a budget, trimmed by transcript

How to choose
- Check what a credit counts: Opus Clip and Vizard charge for the full length of the video you upload, so trim intros first; Submagic counts videos you upload, and each AI tool run costs credits.
- Long or short source videos: Submagic needs its $19-a-month Magic Clips add-on to cut long videos.
- Recording and clipping in one tool: Riverside, a recording and editing tool, makes Magic Clips on every plan from what you record in it or upload, and its $35-a-month Pro plan takes 900 minutes of uploaded video a month, about 3.9 cents a minute against Vizard's 4.8 cents; billed yearly Vizard costs less (about 2.4 cents a minute against Riverside's 2.7), and Riverside shows no count of the upload hours you have used.
- Check every clip before posting: testers found off-topic picks and sound-alike caption errors.
- Refunds: none at Opus Clip or Submagic; Vizard only within 7 days and only if unused.
