Murf review: pricing, features and what testers found
Murf is an AI voiceover studio and API that turns scripts into narration with word-by-word control of pitch, speed, pauses and emphasis, aimed at e-learning and business video. Paid plans start at $29 a month for 2 hours of speech.
Our take
Murf is built for directing a voiceover line by line: pitch, pauses and, on Business, emphasis can be set word by word, and it plugs into Canva and PowerPoint, which suits e-learning and corporate explainers. Its voices rank well below ElevenLabs' on the blind-vote leaderboard, voice cloning is Enterprise-only, and refunds are possible only within 24 hours. The free plan lets you try voices in the editor but not download audio.
Based on Murf's published plans and the hands-on tests linked below, not on a test of our own.
Good for
- E-learning, training and corporate explainer voiceovers
- Teams working in Canva or PowerPoint
Watch out for
- Refunds only on request within 24 hours of purchase and before 10 minutes are generated; the pricing FAQ says payments are not refundable.
- Voice cloning is an Enterprise add-on, not on self-serve plans.
- The free plan cannot download audio.
- Creator carries a personal commercial license; the business license starts on the Business plan.

- Emphasis control shapes stress word by word, though the button is easy to miss.
- Only some voices sound good; many still sound robotic.
- Paid-plan voices sound much better than the free ones.
