Before you pay
- Chat, agents, code review and the CLI use AI credits (1 credit = $0.01) priced by model and tokens, so a long agent session on a top model uses far more than a quick question; past your allowance, extra usage is billed at $0.01 a credit up to a budget you set, and code reviews also use GitHub Actions minutes.
- Part of each paid individual plan's allowance (Pro, Pro+ and Max) is a flex allotment that GitHub says may change over time (500 of Pro's 1,500 credits), and unused credits expire at the start of each month.
- On Free, Pro, Pro+ and Max, GitHub may use your prompts, outputs and code snippets to train AI models unless you opt out in settings; Business and Enterprise data is not used for training.
- Cancelling a monthly plan keeps access to the end of the billing cycle, with no proration.
