Lovable review: pricing, features and what testers found

Lovable is an AI app builder that turns chat prompts into full-stack web apps and websites, with a built-in backend, hosting and GitHub sync. Paid plans start at $25 a month for 100 credits.

Our take

Lovable is a strong pick for non-coders who want a working web app from a prompt: TechRadar called it one of the best no-code platforms for newcomers after its test app worked in about a minute, and Zapier found its designs more engaging than Bolt's or Replit's. Costs are harder to predict, because each build message is charged by the work it takes and credits are spent even when the result fails; Website Builder Expert used more than half of a day's free credits on its first prompt. Zapier says tools like it get you about 70% of the way, and Website Builder Expert advises a developer review before any public launch.

Based on Lovable's published plans and the hands-on tests linked below, not on a test of our own.

Good for

  • Founders and non-developers who want a polished prototype to show users or investors
  • Internal tools and dashboards for a small team

Watch out for

  • Build messages are charged by the work they take, so you cannot see the price before you send one; Lovable's docs give examples from 0.5 to 2 credits, and asking it to fix its own errors costs credits too.
  • Credits are used up whatever the result, and fees and credits are non-refundable except where the law requires; cancelling refunds nothing for the current period.
  • Monthly plan credits roll over but expire two months after they are issued, daily credits expire at the end of each day, and unused plan credits freeze when you cancel.
  • On Free and Pro, workspace data is not excluded from AI model training by default (you opt out per account); Business and Enterprise exclude it.

Price per credit is our calculation: the monthly-billing price divided by what the plan includes, assuming you use all of it. It is not a measured cost.

What hands-on testers found

We have not tested Lovable ourselves. These are the published tests we found that used it hands-on, newest first; follow the links for the full reviews.

TechRadar · Christian Cawley and Mayank Sharma · updated July 2, 2026

What they tested: A crypto price calculator built from a prompt TechRadar has used with various no-code tools, then revised and published.

  • It delivered a working app that met the spec in 1 minute 4 seconds, but added currencies the prompt did not ask for.
  • It removed the extras on request in 27 seconds.
  • Its one listed drawback is a tendency to go off-script, and prompt skill matters most on the lower paid tiers.

Their score: 4.5 out of 5

Zapier · Miguel Rebelo · updated July 1, 2026

What they tested: Several projects built side by side in Lovable, Bolt and Replit, including a landing page with a rocket that takes off as you scroll.

  • Lovable produced the scroll-triggered rocket animation; Bolt and Replit did not, and its interfaces were consistently more engaging.
  • Its select, draw, comment and inline-text tools were the easiest of the three for beginners.
  • Credit pricing is opaque, and all three tools only get you about 70% of the way on quality and security.

Website Builder Expert · Holly Choules · updated April 23, 2026

What they tested: An internal order-tracking app for a florist, built on the free plan by a self-described beginner.

  • The first version took just under three minutes and worked, though the design felt generic.
  • Her first prompt used more than half of the 5 free daily credits, and one click to fix an error later used her last 0.8.
  • She found it intuitive and open about what it was doing, but advises a professional code review before any public app.
