Colossyan review: pricing, features and what testers found

Colossyan turns documents, slides, links or prompts into avatar-presented training videos with quizzes, branching and SCORM export for a learning system. It has a free plan; the paid plan is $89 a month.

Our take

Colossyan is made for workplace training: interactive quizzes, branching scenarios and SCORM export are its strengths, and its free plan includes 20 minutes a month. Hands-on coverage is thin; the one detailed tester found stock avatars natural but his custom photo avatar stiff, and translations needed review. The paid plan costs $89 a month for 40 minutes, so compare it with Synthesia if you need more minutes.

Based on Colossyan's published plans and the hands-on tests linked below, not on a test of our own.

Good for

  • Learning and development teams building interactive training
  • Turning existing PDFs and slide decks into training videos

Watch out for

  • A full refund only within 14 days and only if you generated under 10 minutes of video.
  • Unused minutes do not roll over, and deleting a video does not return its minutes.
  • NEO2 minutes, for the newer avatars, are scarce: 10 a month on Professional.
  • Free-plan videos carry Colossyan branding.

What hands-on testers found

We have not tested Colossyan ourselves. These are the published tests we found that used it hands-on, newest first; follow the links for the full reviews.

Digital Karthik · Karthik M · August 23, 2026

What they tested: Head-to-head with HeyGen on avatars, voice, translation and training workflows.

  • Custom avatars were a clear weak point next to HeyGen.
  • Translated videos sometimes had an off tone, so each needed review.
  • Straightforward for document or script to training video.

Digital Karthik · Karthik M · March 30, 2026

What they tested: Videos from AI drafts and from scratch with stock avatars, a custom avatar from his photo, and PDF and slide imports.

  • Stock avatars had natural voices and tight lip-sync.
  • His own-photo avatar looked artificial, with stiff head movement.
  • The scene editor made per-scene changes easy; complex projects rendered slowly.

Their score: 3.2 out of 5

Cybernews · Aušra Korkuzaitė · February 6, 2026

What they tested: A short hands-on entry in a roundup of AI video generators.

  • The editor felt intuitive, with templates and branding tools.
  • Quizzes, branching and up to four avatars per scene stood out for training.

Their score: 3.3 in the roundup
