It costs 60% less per token than Claude Fable 5.1 ($4 and $20 against $10 and $50), scores higher on seven of the eight Artificial Analysis benchmarks both have and ties the eighth. Anthropic itself recommends Opus 5.5 for most workloads and Fable 5.1 for demanding reasoning, long-horizon agentic work, or tasks where Opus 5.5 at higher effort still falls short.
